Learn what defines a Kickstarter exclusive bundle for playing cards, the perks of limited-edition sets, and how to spot a worthwhile collection like the RS Kickstarter Bundle.
Quick answer
A Kickstarter exclusive bundle is a curated set of limited-edition playing cards available only through a campaign, often including rare finishes, gilded edges, and custom packaging that you can't buy separately.
Why exclusivity matters for collectors
Kickstarter exclusive bundles often contain decks that never reach retail stores. This scarcity can increase a set's long-term value and collectibility. For example, the RS Kickstarter Bundle includes 12 different decks, two of which are mystery gilded editions—making the entire brick a one-time offer.
The trade-off is that you usually need to pledge during the campaign window. Once the Kickstarter ends, the opportunity to buy that exact bundle may be gone forever. If you miss it, secondary market prices can be significantly higher.
What typically comes in a Kickstarter bundle
Expect a mix of standard and premium decks. In the case of the RS Kickstarter Bundle, you get die-cut, foiled, sold-out, sleeved, UV featured, and gilded decks—all housed in two custom half-brick boxes. The variety is a major draw for collectors who want a complete, curated experience.
Keep in mind that not all bundles are equal. Some may include duplicates or fewer premium decks. Always check the campaign page for a full list of included items and their finishes before backing.
Frequently asked questions about Kickstarter exclusive bundles
- Are Kickstarter exclusive bundles worth the price?
- Yes, if you value rarity and curated variety. The RS Kickstarter Bundle is priced at USD 147.00 (compared to a catalog value of USD 210.00), offering a significant discount for a complete brick of premium decks. However, value depends on your personal taste in finishes and designs.
- Can I buy the decks separately after the campaign?
- Usually not. Kickstarter exclusive bundles are designed as a single, limited release. Individual decks from the bundle may appear on secondary markets, but you'll pay more and lose the custom packaging. If you want the full experience, back the bundle during the campaign.
- What should I look for in a Kickstarter bundle?
- Check the number of decks, finishes (gilded, foiled, UV), packaging quality, and edition size. A good bundle offers variety and at least one truly exclusive element, like the mystery gilded editions in the RS Kickstarter Bundle. Focus on bundles with limited stock and unique features you can't get elsewhere.
